Paul Fry has pitched like an elite reliever to this point in the season. That could capture the interest of playoff teams looking to bolster their bullpen if the Orioles wanted to sell high on a player with 3+ years of team control. #Birdland https://t.co/mlFjWkmVIW
Let’s power rank the Top-10 Orioles who have played in the Mike Elias/Brandon Hyde era. I’ll start:
1. John Means
2. Trey Mancini
3. Anthony Santander
4. Cedric Mullins
5. Ryan Mountcastle
6. Hanser Alberto
7. Renato Núñez
8. Jonathan Villar
9. Paul Fry
10. Tanner Scott
Hey @RaysBaseball, do your players a favor. Pry open those locked up tight & heavily guarded prospect many you end up trading and giving away for nothing anyway, and go get LHRP Paul Fry.

Hey Eric Neander, the Orioles have everything the #Rays need in 3 of their controlled players:
1) LH SP John Mead
2) Power RH bat lefty masher Trey Mancini
3) Solid LH RP Paul Fry
Paul Fry, Baltimore Orioles
LHP, 1.99 ERA, 22.2 IP, batters have a .179 AVG against him, 10 BBs, 30 Ks
Tanner Scott, Baltimore Orioles
LHP, 3.09 ERA, 23.1 IP, batters have a .200 AVG against him, 19 BBs, 34Ks
Two lefty candidate arms, with strikeout ability on both sides.
#Orioles fWAR leaders entering today:
CF Cedric Mullins (2.4)
SS Freddy Galvis (1.4)
1B Trey Mancini (1.3)
LHP John Means (1.3)
LHP Paul Fry (1.0)
LF Austin Hays (1.0)
Mullins has the 5th-best fWAR among AL position players. Means is tied for 9th among AL pitchers.
Paul Fry with a save, strands two in the 9th as O's beat Cleveland 3-1 in the series opener. Akin goes 5 IP, 0 runs and Mountcastle hit a 2-run HR, his 4th in 10 games. That is 3 in a row for the Orioles.
Ryan Mountcastle woke the Orioles offense up late, and they parlayed his two-run homer and a strong Keegan Akin start into a come-from-behind-win.
First save for Paul Fry as new closer (2nd total).
It is Baltimore's third straight victory.
FINAL: Orioles, 3. Indians, 1.
It's over as the Orioles beat Cleveland 3-1 for their third straight victory. Ryan Mountcastle delivered the go-ahead two-run shot in the seventh after Keegan Akin headlined a strong pitching effort with five scoreless innings. Paul Fry registered his second save of the year.
Ryan Mountcastle hits into a double play to end the eighth after Terry Francona walks Freddy Galvis intentionally to load the bases. #Orioles take 3-1 lead to the ninth with Paul Fry looking for the save with three outs to go.
Of current Orioles, Shawn Armstrong is 3rd in appearances with the club.
His 85 are behind just Tanner Scott's 135 and Paul Fry's 145.
He's 4th in strikeouts and innings, adding John Means to Scott and Fry being ahead of him.
Paul Fry recorded the final five outs tonight in the Orioles win. Cole Sulser had pitched 3 of the last 4 days. Seems like it could be either/both of these fellas in the 9th moving forward, maybe dependent on matchups.
Apparently Cole Sulser pitched the ninth yesterday for Baltimore because Paul Fry was unavailable. Both Sulser and Fry rank in the top-12 in K-BB% among RPs (min 10IP)
8. Fry - 29.9%, 2.25 ERA
12. Sulser - 29.3%, 1.74 ERA
Valdez (5.31 ERA) likely out as closer going forward
So it was Cole Sulser who received Baltimore’s first save chance in weeks yesterday, not Paul Fry who had worked the 2 days prior. I still expect Fry to mix in, and possibly receive the bulk of the opportunities for the O’s.
Having lost 13 or whatever straight, I'd DEFINITELY bring in Paul Fry right now if I needed a LHP to get 2 outs with bases loaded and ONLY up by 5. Gotta nail down this win. You just have to. #Orioles #Birdland
After Paul Fry's scoreless ninth, Trey Mancini dumped a two-strike single over second base to put the go-ahead run on for Anthony Santander. José Berrios finally gives way to the Twins bullpen. The Orioles have a chance to win.
.@Orioles left-handed relief pitcher Paul Fry strikes out the side in the ⬆️ of the ninth and completes that by fanning @Twins CF Rob Refsnyder (swinging). 🍟
M9: Minnesota 1, Baltimore 1. // wowza!?!
#MINvsBAL #MNTwins #Birdland
FAST! 🍟⚡️ B’more left-hander Paul Fry concludes the ⬇️ of the eighth inning on 9️⃣ pitches by striking out Chicago CF Billy Hamilton (swinging) for the last out. 3️⃣☑️
E8: White Sox 3, Orioles 1. // another L...?

Next time the Orioles have a lead, Paul Fry will be prominently involved, maybe as closer. It might be an adventure getting there, but considering his unlikely path, he knows something about that.
"Where I am now, it's pretty cool to think about"
Austin Hays is still out of the lineup, but Brandon Hyde said that his hamstring is improving. Dillon Tate throws a rehab outing at Norfolk, and it's possible Paul Fry could try to close out games for the time being for #Orioles
Sounds like Paul Fry might get some closing opportunities going forward. There haven't been many lately, and Brandon Hyde still needs to get to the ninth most nights, but he's mentioned Fry twice now in consecutive days when posed the question. #Orioles
FINAL (9): #Rays (25-19) at #Orioles (17-25)
TB 9 (10H, 1E)
BAL 7 (11H, 0E)
WP: Ryan Thompson (W, 3-2)
LP: Paul Fry (L, 0-1)
SV: Pete Fairbanks (S, 1)
Attendance: 6,581 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Paul Fry has been amazing this season. He’s arguably the Orioles’ best reliever and one of the better ones in the majors so far this season (tied for the 5th best WAR among MLB relievers, per FanGraphs).
Tonight, he has not looked like THAT Paul Fry. Far from it.
Paul Fry has allowed a run for just the third time this season, with both walks he issued in tonight's eighth inning coming around to score on a single and wild pitch, respectively. The Orioles trail 8-6.
Before tonight, Paul Fry had been more or less untouchable more or less all year. But he's allowed two runs here in the eighth -- two walks, Ji-Man Choi single, wild pitch.
Rays, 8. Orioles, 6. The O's once lead this game 5-0.
The 7th was a 1-2-3 affair on both sides of the inning, led by Travis Lakins, Sr for the Birds & Andriese. In the 8th, Baltimore’s skipper returned to his pen to bring in lefty Paul Fry to face the righthanded Dalbec, who went down on strikes, as did Gonzalez. Verdugo hit into
