This week on the podcast, @jacobburch & I talk about the bummer of Dustin May needing Tommy John surgery, how extra innings have highlighted recent Dodgers problems, and ice cream https://t.co/kk4quCtIeL
With Dustin May out for the season and Tony Gonsolin still out, the #Dodgers are left looking for answers in their starting rotation.
Edwin Uceta has been wishing for this moment, and he has spoken his wish into existence.
So... it has come to my attention that due to the unfortunate nature of Dustin May’s injury. Some were too sad to look at your iPhone wallpaper with him as the subject. Here’s an alternative that will always make us happy. Blue Heaven. by renzonelisanchez via /r/Dodgers …
Box-Toppers’ 2nd terrible pun on #Dodgers player name in 2021:
May 7—Dustin May/“dust in May”
March 31—Justin Turner/“just in turn err”
Chicago #WhiteSox rise to lead Box-Toppers team rankings while #Dodgers, dominant in April, turn to dust in May, falling from 1st to 8th, exemplified by losing pitcher Dustin May to injury.
#Phillies rise to lead NL teams.
#Yankees are week’s hottest team.
Dustin May is THE prime example of why injury prevention for young pitchers is ineffective for teams and frustrating for fans.
Dodgers were so careful with him. He averaged about 4 innings per outing the past 3 years. Only threw 90+ pitches 4 times in 19 starts.
We can’t hit with runners on scoring position and we just haven’t been healthy! Cody Bellinger, Zack McKinstry, Dustin May, David Price, Corey Knebel, Joe Kelly, Tony Gonsolin, Caleb Ferguson and Brusdar Graterol all are on the injured list for the dodgers
Hearing Dustin May has to have Tommy John surgery really stinks. I know the recovery of this surgery seems to be ok, and sometimes makes a pitcher throw harder... but I just really enjoyed May on the mound. Hoping the surgery goes well.
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that pitcher Dustin May will undergo Tommy John Surgery (UCL reconstruction surgery) on his right elbow on Tuesday, May 11, and this will end his season. Prayers up for a safe and speedy recovery.

What does Dustin May's injury mean for the Dodgers? https://t.co/P4HrhDBizk How is it during this horrible stretch of gutless baseball by this team of under achievers, does Jansen get relegated to pitching in the 7th inning? So is useless Mike Cleavinger the new closer? A Loser.

@metalassaultLA @Dodgers I don’t see a bug deal between who starts game 1 or 2 they are still pitching the same day and taking kershaw off was a great idea - he might pitch again today or place him back in the rotation in less then 5 days due to Dustin May being gone. No big deal let’s get the second GM

“I feel for him most importantly,” Roberts said of May. “But, for our ballclub, it’s a big blow.” https://t.co/uMAvS6L8SR
Dustin May was taking the next step this season. His curveball was improved and he was missing bats. Now Tommy John surgery will stall that development at least until next summer.

Reminiscent of what happened to the '84 Cubs in '85, the '86 Mets in '87, only worse because of the ceilings of May and Gonsolin

The Dodgers vs Brewers May 1
Good- Mookie Betts scores a HR out of the gate
Bad- Dustin May - Injures his hand(hope its not serious)
Ugly- after a valiant effort Dodgers lose
But back today at 11:10amPT for another.
Dodgers vs Brewers.
Both teams 👀 look more like last place than first place teams
Roberts and Vogel managing/coaching like crap 💩
Plus Dustin May injury
Rams Snead wo Holmes getting draft grades that remind long time fans of John Shaw or St Louis days
Dustin May worry could be a serious injury
Lakers stink w LBJ back
Neither team looks like ANY CHANCE OF REPEATING. Frankly look more like LAST PLACE than 1st place teams
Vogel and Roberts look like a tank commander and A ball coach respectively
The Dodgers couldn't hold on in extras, but a different loss befell the club when Dustin May departed early with an arm injury.
"Certainly the health of the player, short and long term, is our biggest concern.”
